City Gates Ministries is proud to be sponsoring the Bringing Them Home event for National Missing Children’s Day.
Bringing Them Home is a group of parents of missing & exploited children. In commemoration of National Missing Children’s Day, the event will be held on May 24th, from 11 am – 4pm at Walmart Supercenter, 5900 Littlerock Rd SW, Tumwater, WA 98512. This annual event encourages the community to come together to show their support and raise awareness for families of missing and exploited children.
Attending will be many of our city representatives like the Olympia Fire Department who will provide a stop, drop and role and fun activities for children. WSP, Search and Rescue and Thurston County Sheriff Department will have booths on site to include safety and educational information. Children will have a chance to learn safety precautions and receive awareness information on the do and don’ts if approached by a stranger or followed by suspicious vehicles etc. National, state and local businesses will be available on site to share their support for our community as well as faith based organizations who believe in the need for more awareness on children’s safety and preventing exploitation.
In addition, National Missing Children’s Day will pay tribute to children lost to these tragedies. Washington families and parents of missing children will be there to tell their stories and have information available to raise awareness for their missing children. This will include case reports of missing children, sex crimes against children and human trafficking victims etc.
It takes a community to raise awareness for children’s safety. Our children need your support at this important event. Why? Your presence last year was a result of a 25% reduction in missing children cases. BECAUSE OF YOU! Over 70 cases closed last year. Let’s make a statement and end this horrific crime against children and human trafficking. I’ll see you there!
For more information on how you and your organization can do your part, please call me immediately to set up an appointment. Registration tables are still available while there is still room.
