New Bridge Ministry Partners

We are so very grateful for the support New Bridge Community Church provides City Gates Ministries!
We are excited to provide this report on some of the ways your participation in this ministry has benefited people in need in Thurston County.

We were blessed to build a wheel chair ramp for Tracy who fell off a ladder in November while cutting down a tree. He is now paralyzed from the waist down and was living in his van unable to get into the house where he lives with his wife and child. Along with providing his family with food and commodities, it was a blessing to help him regain access to his home.

Presenting title to Gary' snew home

We are finalizing the agreement on our 11th mobile home project. We will be signing the title over to its resident, Gary, in April. We are waiting for the permits to come though on yet another mobile home, this one for Jacob, so we can begin repairs. Jacob is currently living on the ministry property in a travel trailer until we can complete the renovations and move him in. He will then be reunited with his daughter whom he has not seen in 5 years. Volunteers will be needed to help us with the renovations. These are excellent service projects for home groups, youth groups, and anyone who desires to make an impact on homelessness in our community.

Please pray for the food and commodity deliveries being made daily. Over 2000 lbs. of food is delivered every week along with diapers, detergents and products to help alleviate the cost and financial burdens families are struggling with to make ends meet. In addition, the lunch bag ministry is still running strong, delivering 120 bags of food throughout the week. Volunteers pray with those who receive these deliveries.

More and more people are losing housing due to the rising costs of food, fuel and rent. We are seeing and helping an average of three families a week who are getting off the street and into housing with deposits, furniture, beds, food, hygiene, and commodities. Sixty five percent of the calls coming into the ministry are 14-day pay or vacate notices.

The faithful and generous financial support from organizations like New Bridge Community Church and grants from businesses like Alaska Federal Credit Union are making a real and tangible difference in the lives of people in our local area. The dedicated volunteers who deliver provisions, and pray for and build relationships with those being served bring the love of Christ to so many throughout Thurston County.

Blessings,
